This week, our founder Emily, sent me, Emmy (yes, we are two different people), on a mission to find the ultimate white dress shirt. As we head into the cooler months, having a staple white dress shirt to layer with is essential.
To save you the time and energy, I headed to the mall to try on every white dress shirt I could find, narrowing down my top 3. Take a peak at my selections here:
Coming in at #1 was the Cinched Waist Poplin Shirt from Dynamite.
This elegant, white collard dress shirt was designed with high quality material, not transparent or see through, and had a bit of snugger fit. I would suggest sizing up if a looser fit was desired. The cinched waist detail on the back of the shirt added some really nice shape to the look, making it easy to still size up or go for the tighter, fitted, look.
#2 was the Linen Blend Button Down Crop Shirt from Old Navy.
This dress shirt felt very light and airy, was slightly transparent, and had a cropped fit. This is an ideal summer dress shirt, or for layering with the perfect fall sweater, vest, or jacket. The cropped fit also makes it a great pairing for high waisted dress pants or jeans.
#3 was the Organic Cotton Poplin Classic Shirt from GAP.
The material of this shirt was instantly superior to all the others. It had a soft, cotton, feel to it while still being light and breathable. With a bit of an oversized, looser fit, it makes a great option for wearing with tighter pants/leggings.
